An article recently published in Bloomberg says that the cost of living in the US did not increase as much as it was expected too. Inflation did not rise much, but the paychecks have also barley risen. The article mentions that McDonald's is trying to keep their prices under control to lure in financially unstable consumers.
It is a good thing that the cost of living has not increased a dramatic amount. I believe that people's incomes should also increase to keep up with inflation and living expenses. It was very interesting that McDonald's is trying hard to bring in more low income customers. I thought that McDonald's target market would be lower middle class to middle class consumers. I supposed McDonald's will try to lower the quality of their food to make it cheaper for the consumers to buy.
I agree with you. It would be hard if we have to keep up with inflation if our paychecks stay the same. I think businesses target everyone because they want to make money as much as they can.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that the cost of living didn't rise too much. The cost of living is already so expensive we really can't afford it to go up very much. It's sad the people are getting more money for their hard work but I guess this is how they are keeping up with inflation; less inflation less income. But I agree with you and the McDonald's thing, it's really nice they are trying to keep prices law but that'll make demand high so they're really making a smart business decision I think.
ReplyDeleteObviously it's always good to see that the cost of living is not rising very much, or ideally, falling. This shows that there is some progress being made within the country, and that there is room to grow for the future. Other factors could also begin to improve, like inflation, the value of the dollar, and prices of necessary goods, which will all contribute to the overall improvement of our country.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is good to hear that the cost of living has not changed a lot, and I think that McDonalds is making a good choice about modifying prices to be affordable by really low income families, because people who buy it now will be happy with the lower prices and continue buying, plus the lower income people will be able to buy it too, so really it is going to attract the business a lot more customers.
ReplyDeleteThis is good news that you usually don't see on economic blogs! A lower cost of living than expected and a low inflation rise is always good. It's also good that McDonald's is keeping their prices lower to make their food more affordable for lower income families. Even though they're keeping lower food prices, I don't think the quality of their food will decrease.
